Me and Barry Morse at the Warhol Party

The Andy Warhol Party

This is a photo of myself and Barry Morse at the Andy Warhol benefit party at MOCA. Some people from MOCA hired Barry to get some freaks together to look interesting at the party, as if we were Andy Warhol's friends. This was my first public appearance as the character VIVA, from my new film. I made my see-through dress and headdress and spent $400 on my costume, which includes hand-beaded sleeves and a hem which you can't see in this photo. The headdress was inspired by Liz Taylor in Dr. Faustus, and the outfit as a whole by Daniele Gaubert in the orgy scene in Radley Metzger's Camille 2000. Barry appliqued planets and stars on his shirt, and kept a loose thread hanging down because he thought it looked more glamorous and high-fashion that way.

Here are some more photos of myself and others from the Andy Warhol party. The woman in camouflage at the top right is Lun*na Menoh, an artist extraordinaire from Japan. She is dressed here as a camouflage Marie Antoinette, an example of her tremendous wit and skill as a designer. She can also be seen performing in the fabulous rock band Seksu Roba. In these photos we are dazzling fans as they come up the stairs to the exclusive Studio 54 Party. The silver people are peformance artists Kari French and Bliss, and in the group shot in gold and tulle and simply dripping with costume jewelry is Nick Paul as Kitty Twisted, along with other fabulous people who decorated the ultra-chic party which kicked off the opening of the Warhol exhibit. More glamorous photos coming soon!

With John Fleck at the Hollywood Hills Restaurant

The Silverlake FIlm Festival

Here I am with creme de la creme performance artist and actor, John Fleck. We bumped into each other at the gala party after the opening night screening at the Silverlake FIlm Festival. John is such a sweetheart, I stayed with him and my good friend Ryan Hill in their little flat in Manhattan's West VIllage recently, and they were so hospitable and entertaining. They are the hosts with the most! And if you ever get invited to one of their fabulous parties in their 1950's Los Feliz mansion with intercom and swimming pool, consider yourself very lucky! These are very classy people. And if you find yourself in Manhattan, do look up Ryan Hill at the Guggenheim and tell him I said hello.

With Carol Cetrone at the Los Feliz Theater

Here I am inside of the historic Los Feliz Theater with Carol Cetrone (Perpetua), performance artist, dancer, choreographer, filmmaker, and beauty pageant queen! This year I saw Carol compete in the Queen of Silverlake pageant, which was quite a treat! She came out and did a bump and grind spy dance, VERY sexy, with three guys in black, and brought the house down. There were all kinds of queens in the pageant, and all of them were so good that the judges (including Anna Nicole Smith)! took forever deciding who would take the crown. Only in Silverlake could you have a beauty queen contestant in his 60's who's a recovering alcoholic named Terry, who works in the local video store, and who comes out in an all-glitter beaded gown and piled-high platinum wig and does his own fabulous version of "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend"! It was certainly a very sassy and showy evening, and the gowns and headdresses rivalled anything you see in Las Vegas. Maybe next year I'll compete-- who knows?

With Nick Paul, Robert Greene, and Jared Sanford

At the Los Feliz Theater with the wonderful Nick Paul (featured in above photo as Miss Kitty Twisted), my boyfriend Robert Greene, and my dear friend and film partner Jared Sanford. Robert, who is the author of "The 48 Laws of Power" and "The Art of Seduction," is now working on a book on war. He recently went to Portland to see a big boxing match, and was surprised to meet lots of fans of his books there from the boxing underworld. The interesting thing about his books is that they appeal to strippers, gangsters, politicians, lawyers, wall street types, intellectuals, con artists, leaders of countries (Fidel Castro and the presidents of Guatemala and Nigeria have his books)! and so on. Great stuff! I myself consult these books all the time in tricky social situations. We're all smiling here because we've just come from a screening of "A Visit from the Incubus."
